Glen is a Divisional Director in Jacobs’ Global Health Safety and Environment Centre of Excellence (CoE) with specific responsibilities that include establishing Jacobs’ global mental health matters strategy for 77,000 staff, across 400+ locations in over 40 countries.
Glen has 25 years of operational experience in the construction industry, including 9 years as a Health and Safety Professional. He is the author of Jacobs mental health matters strategy, which launched in the UK in 2016 with a network of 120 trained positive mental health champions. This network has now grown to more than 650 pmh champions across the globe, with an ambition to have more than 1,000 champions before the end of 2018.
Since its launch Jacobs’ mental health matters strategy and has been recognised with several awards, including being awarded Gold in the MIND 2018 Workplace Wellbeing Index and the NCE100 (2018) Health, Safety and Wellbeing Category.
As the leading light of Jacobs strategy Glen has helped clients and contractors develop their own mental health programmes and is also on the Safer Highways Advisory Board looking at how to deliver the Stevenson Farmer ‘Thriving at Work’ Review to ‘the person on the tools’ across the highways industry.
