Dr Ellie Cannon is the resident GP for the Mail on Sunday and Mailonline but most well known as the on-screen GP for Sky News. She is also the voice of the LBC radio health hour.
Ellie’s second book Is Your Job Making You Ill? was published in January 2018. After 10 years in general practice seeing the prevalence of work-related mental health, the book shares the experiences she has had with patients: what has worked and why anyone can find themselves affected. The book is a self-help manual for sufferers – exploring mental health, physical health and lifestyle advice to deal with illness so people can carry on working, not only surviving but thriving.
Ellie regularly works on campaigns for Public Health England as well as advocating for charities Meningitis Now and Pancreatic Cancer Action. She has given evidence to two All Party Parliamentary Groups on Body image as well as Women’s Health.
Dr Ellie read medicine at Emmanuel College, Cambridge. She has worked in the same NHS GP practice for the last decade on Abbey Road. Ellie combines her work with her “proper job” which takes up 99% of her week – being a mum to her two children.
